I've no intention of buying into the brand, that's not what it's about for me. I couldn't give a rat's ass who has the phone as I enjoy using it but I get where you're coming from. For me it's simply about functionality and usability. It does everything I want in a well structured and user friendly environment. End of for me. (the fact that it looks pretty does help). I didn't have the old xda brick

or the orbit after it just for fun, I got them because I liked what they could do. I looked like a complete idiot with the brick but I didn't care as I thought it was a great bit of kit. Before that I had one of these (as did Andy)

I didn't just buy it because it was being sold cheap by someone in work but because it was a different design and one that i thought was worth a go. It turned out to be complete pants to text with but I'm glad I gave it a go. I think I'll be going experimental on my next upgrade hoping it's a little more successful
I don't think you're going over to the dark side, I think you're leaving it! Much as I like the iPhone I think Steve Jobs is a megalomaniacal idiot with some really weird views on the world that are either naive or simply money grabbing empire building plans dressed up in sheeps clothing. I've also been saying for a while that I think Android is the way forward, it's come a heck of a long way in the last 12 months but i still feel there's some way to go before it can surpass the iPhone OS and interface. For me it'll be another year or two before I consider jumping ship but I'm fairly convinced this is the last iPhone I get. I'm enjoying the apple ride while it lasts though!
